Party leader affirms further Viet Nam-Cuba cooperation
While receiving Concepcion Campa, member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party, in Ha Noi on April 4, General Secretary Manh also thanked the Cuban Party, State and people for their precious assistance to Viet Nam.
The Party leader recalled memories of his visit to Cuba in March 2004 and expressed his joy at the achievements made by the Cuban people in the past years despite blockages and embargoes.
He informed his guest about Viet Nam's current situation as well as preparations for and major directions to be discussed and decided upon at the upcoming 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
The General Secretary said he believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will overcome difficulties to successfully build socialism, bringing about prosperity to their country and happiness to their citizens.
General Secretary Manh asked Ms Campa to convey his regards to President Fidel Castro and other Cuban Party and State leaders.
For her part, Campa, who is also President and Director General of the Finlay Institute, spoke highly of the Vietnamese Revolution's great achievements and wished the 10th National Party Congress success, expressing her belief that the Vietnamese people will successfully implement the congress's resolution to make Viet Nam more prosperous.
She briefed her host on Cuba's major achievements in socio-economic development as well as its determination to protect revolutionary achievements and consistently follow the path to socialism chosen by the Cuban Party and people.
The Cuban guest also thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people for their valuable support for and assistance to Cuba and affirmed the determination to consolidate the fine traditional friendship between the two Parties, States and peoples. (VNA)
