Locals have been joining the entire nation in celebrating the Buddha's 2630th birthday and the 2500th year of the Buddhist calendar with art performances, charitable activities, pilgrimages and Buddhist rituals. The first ever parades of flower-decorated carts from various pagodas to the provincial Cultural Centre scheduled for the coming full moon night (on May 12) will be the most expected, said Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue, Head of the provincial Sangha's Executive Board.
