Vietnamese, Japanese deputy foreign ministers meet

Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phu Binh and his Japanese counterpart, Nishida Tsuneo, have discussed measures to accelerate the implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements reached by leaders of the two countries.

During an annual deputy ministerial-level political dialogue in Tokyo from May 7-10, the two diplomats also exchanged views on Viet Nam-Japan relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

While in Japan, Deputy Foreign Minister Binh was received by Tsutomu Takebe, General Secretary of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and President of the Japan-Viet Nam Parliamentarians' Friendship League, and Taro Aso, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He also met with officials of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the Keidanren Viet Nam Committee.(VNA)
