Lao Party General Secretary and President leaves for HCM City
Party General Secretary Manh spoke highly of the outcome of the Lao leader's visit, describing it as a manifestation of the trust and close relationship between the Parties, States and people of Viet Nam and Laos.
Special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos are very important to ensure the sustainable development of each country and their people, the Vietnamese Party leader stressed.
"The Vietnamese Party, State and people will do their utmost to enhance and consolidate the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the 21st century and for friendly neighbouring relationship to be ever green," added General Secretary Manh.
The Party leader said he hoped that in 2007, the two countries will have practical measures and activities to mark the 45th anniversary of their relationship and the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Agreement.
General Secretary Manh asked the Lao Party General Secretary and President to convey his best regards to other Lao Party and State leaders.
Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly expressed gratitude to the Party, State and people of Viet Nam for their warm welcome. He stressed that the Lao Party, State and people would continue promoting the special solidarity and traditional comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Viet Nam, which have been fostered by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and generations of Vietnamese and Lao leaders, people and soldiers.
He said he would inform the Lao agencies, ministries and branches of the results of the visit in order to effectively implement the two countries' high-level agreements.
During President Choummaly's stay in Ha Noi, President of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship Association Huynh Dam and representatives of the Liaison Board of the Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers paid courtesy visits to the Lao leader./.
