Vietnamese, Cambodian Fronts bolster cooperation

(VNA) - President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Pham The Duyet stated that cooperation between the two largest mass fronts of Viet Nam and Cambodia would be constantly developed and diversified causing more practical results to occur.

Duyet made the remarks when he received Samdec Heng Samrin, Cambodian National Assembly President and President of the Central Council of Front for National Solidarity and Development, in Ha Noi on July 8.

Heng Samrin, who is leading a delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly on a visit to Viet Nam, expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Party, Government, Fatherland Front and people, for their valuable assistance to Cambodia in their past struggle for national liberation and defence and the current national construction and development. He said he hoped that the solidarity, and traditional cooperation between the two peoples and countries would be strengthened.

The same day, Heng Samrin and his entourage paid a floral tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum. They also laid a wreath at the Vietnamese Soldiers' Monument on Bac Son Road in Ha Noi.

President Heng Samrin and his entourage visited some industrial establishments and the My Dinh urban area in Ha Noi.

Some members of the delegation had a working session with Vietnamese representatives in the ASEAN Inter-Governmental Parliamentary Organisation (AIPO) to exchange experiences and discuss on coordination in AIPO events./.
