French newspaper praises new development in Viet Nam's Central Highlands
According to the article, published on July 6, French ethnologist Georges Condominas, who used to live in Sa Luk for many months, could not recognise the village because everything there is much different from what it was like 60 years ago. Sa Luk, which used to be a forest area, now has schools, gas stations and concrete houses. In addition to Sa Luk village, the article also spoke about the new situation in other villages in Viet Nam's Central Highlands. It told of Plei Fun village, which is the home of more than 300 habitants of Gia Rai ethnic group. In the village, every household owns all the things needed for their daily lives. Many people even have motorbikes. The article also introduced the comprehensive socio-economic development of other ethnic groups in the area as well as the development of the tourism sector in Kon Tum province.
