Venezuelan President wraps up visit, more accords signed
They are an agreement on cooperation in the oil and gas industry, and a letter of intent on cooperation between the Viet Nam Petroleum Corporation (PetroVietnam) and the Petroleum Corporation of Venezuela.
At the farewell ceremony held in the afternoon the same day, President Chavez affirmed that the cooperation accords signed during his visit represent firm ground for the two countries to steadily grow their ties in the near future.
The Venezuelan President also expressed his belief that the solidarity, friendship and all-sided cooperation between the two countries will be further consolidated and developed.
President Nguyen Minh Triet told his guest that his visit helped convey fraternal sentiments of the Vietnamese and Venezuelan peoples towards each other and it helped to establish mutual trust and understanding between the two countries.
In addition, during the visit, the two countries' leaders agreed on the establishment of an all-around cooperation and oriented long term plans to help foster this cooperation, said Triet. They also issued a joint declaration voicing the two States' viewpoints and awareness on directions for bilateral ties in the future.
The Venezuelan President attended and made a speech at the Viet Nam - Venezuela Business Forum held at the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He also paid a courtesy visit to General Vo Nguyen Giap in his home as well as paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum then visited the ex-President's residency and office at the Presidential Palace./.
