Media contribute to Viet Nam-Thailand relations

Media organisations have made significant contributions to the development of the good relationship between Viet Nam and Thailand over the last 30 years.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phu Binh made the remark while receiving a delegation of Thai Foundation of 14 October Academy in Ha Noi on August 7.

The delegation's four-day visit, which commenced on August 4, commemorated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-Thailand diplomatic ties (August 6).

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his pleasure at the development of cooperation and friendship between the two countries over the past 30 years.

During the recent decade, the two countries have made progress in cooperation in politics, security, economics, education, science and technology and tourism, Binh said.

For his part, Suwathn Thongthanakul, Editor in Chief of the Manager newspaper and first Vice President of the Thai Press Council, said he hoped that the Viet Nam and Thailand media organisations would continue their cooperation, especially in sharing experience and professional training.(VNA)
