Mozambique hopes for multi-faceted cooperation with Viet Nam
At a talk with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem on July 14, she spoke highly of Viet Nam's achievements, describing them as good examples for developing countries.
She affirmed that Mozambique fully supports Viet Nam's candidature for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council in the 2008-2009 term.
For his part, Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem stressed that Viet Nam attaches great importance to consolidating and developing its traditional relations with all African countries, especially Mozambique.
The two sides shared their views on measures necessary to develop cooperation between Viet Nam and Mozambique in the future in accordance with their people's wishes.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues and stressed the necessity of strengthening coordination between the two countries at regional and international forums.
On the same day, Minister Alcinda Abreu was received by Viet Nam's Vice State President Truong My Hoa.
The Vice President expressed her hope that Viet Nam would assist Mozambique to enter the ASEAN market, and in return, Mozambique would help Viet Nam to access the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) market.
She noted that friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Mozambique had continued to grow ever since the two countries were struggling for national liberation.
The mutual ties are now a valuable asset that should be of great assistance in the national construction and development of each nation, she stressed.
For her part, Minister Abreu spoke highly of Viet Nams achievements and said that she considered Viet Nam as an outstanding example to other developing countries in hunger elimination, poverty reduction and the eradication of illiteracy.
She also affirmed that Mozambique wants to further promote friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Viet Nam.
During her visit, the Mozambican Minister had working sessions with leaders of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Education and Training, Public Health, and Planning and Investment, and Ha Nam provincial Peoples Committee; and attended a seminar oragnised by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry./.
