General Giap praises overseas Vietnamese's contributions
While receiving a delegation of overseas Vietnamese in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, who have rendered meritorious services to the country, General Giap expressed his wish that overseas Vietnamese continue to stand by their fellow-citizens in the homeland to make Viet Nam a wealthy and powerful country.
Also on August 24, the Overseas Vietnamese Liaison Association met with the delegation of overseas Vietnamese who returned home on the occasion of the National Day (Sept. 2).
Professor Nguyen Van Dao, President of the Association, told the delegation of the achievements made by the Party, the State and people during the renovation process.
The delegation expressed their delight at the accomplishments and they said they wanted for the Association to continue being a bridge linking overseas Vietnamese with the homeland.(VNA)
