Viet Nam supports cooperation in religions with Cambodia

(VNA) - The Vietnamese Government always supports the cooperation in religions with Cambodia, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung told the visiting Cambodian Minister of Cult and Religions, Khun Haing, in Ha Noi on Dec. 3.

The Government official said the religious followers of the two countries have built a fine traditional relationship, and a close cooperation between the two governments will help religious followers to exchange experiences and together foster their relationship.

Deputy PM Hung affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and Government observe a consistent policy of respecting and protecting the religious freedom of citizens and create favourable conditions for the operation of religious sects in Viet Nam.

The Cambodian Minister thanked Deputy PM Hung for his advice on religions, which, he said, Cambodia will study in order to increase the bilateral cooperation in the field as well as develop stability for religious believers.

He expressed his wish that the two countries would exchange experiences in the field for further development of the traditional relationship./.
