Party chief meets German Left Party Chairman
Meeting with Chairman of the Left Party of Germany Lothar Bisky in Ha Noi on Dec. 18, the Vietnamese Party Chief reiterated the country's consistent policy of promoting the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with European Union members.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Nong Duc Manh expressed his hope that the CPV and the Left Party of Germany would work for stronger cooperation between the two countries.
He took this occasion to thank for valuable support of German communists, friends and people for the Vietnamese people in their past struggle for national liberation as well as their current national building and defence.
The German Left Party Chairman said he was glad to make the first visit to Viet Nam and see the dynamic country going on the path toward socialism.
He praised Viet Nam's renewal achievements, stressing these successes are significant to the struggle for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.
Bisky said his party places importance to the ties with Viet Nam and will lead in supporting the Vietnamese people's revolutionary cause, thus contributing to the friendship and cooperation between Germany and Viet Nam.
The same day, officials from the German Left Party had a working session with a delegation from the CPV Central Committee's Commission for External Affairs during which both sides discussed ways to boost the ties between the two parties as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
