PM Dung was speaking at a meeting with a group of more than 50 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where he also participated in the Viet Nam-Switzerland Business Forum, held a dialogue with international media and met with WEF Chairman Klaus Schwab.
The PM said that Viet Nam, at the same time, consistently upholds its open foreign policy and has strong political relations with all countries as well as economic, trade and investment ties with the world's main economic hubs.
The CEOs praised Viet Nam's high economic growth, particularly over its 20 years of renovation, and expressed their wish to invest in the country.
France's insurer AXA and power company EDF, the Metro Group and others all expressed their belief that Viet Nam's policy will attract investment.
Talking with international press, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that Viet Nam continues to improve its institutions to match the requirements of the market economy, integrate into the international economy and the World Trade Organisation.
The country continues to improve its business environment, establish a fair and competitive legal environment for all economic sectors and for domestic and foreign investment while building a law-governed state, by law building, continuing administrative reform and fighting corruption, said the Vietnamese governmental leader.
Viet Nam continues to pursue sustainable development by boosting economic growth, settling social issues and protecting the environment.
At a meeting with the General Director of Credit Suisse of Switzerland, PM Dung witnessed a signing ceremony of a capital arrangement agreement between the Swiss bank and the Viet Nam Ship Building Industry Corporation (Vinashin) and the Viet Nam Maritime Corporation.
Under the agreement, the Swiss bank will provide a loan of 700 million USD to Vinashin to develop shipbuilding yards and other auxiliary industries to serve both domestic and foreign shipbuilding contracts.
Credit Suisse will also grant a 1 billion USD loan to the Viet Nam Maritime Corporation to develop a fleet of ships, build sea ports' infrastructure and other projects.
Earlier, PM Dung warmly received Professor Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), who said that Viet Nam has many opportunities and many big groups around the world are showing keen interest in seeking investment opportunities in Viet Nam.
The next WEF may be held in Asia and Viet Nam may be selected to host a regional forum and other activities of the world's leading companies, said the Chairman.
On the evening of Jan. 26, PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his entourage will attend the special plenary to mark the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).(VNA)
