Footwear exports estimated at 280 million USD in February
Exports of handbags, suitcases, caps and umbrellas also jumped by 42.9 percent to 40 million USD in February.
The association forecasts that the footwear industry will face difficulties this year due to fierce competition, the lack of material sources for production and poor design patterns in addition to the European Union's anti-dumping tariff rate of 10 percent.
To cope with the situation, the association suggested its affiliates focus on making products using high-quality materials to increase value and continue seeking outlets to minimise risks due to market fluctuations./.
