Khmer people enjoy free health treatment

(VNA) - The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang has presented more than 115,000 health insurance cards to the Khmer ethnic people, according to the head of the provincial Ethnic Minorities Department, Lam Ren.

More than 420,000 Khmer ethnic people in the province have, since 2006, benefited from free health check-ups and treatment at a cost of over 1 billion VND in total.

The province has also helped train more than 1,200 Khmer medical workers, including 237 doctors./.
