Viet Nam boosts legislative ties with Panama, Chile

(VNA) - Viet Nam and Panama's legislative bodies should establish cooperative relations, thus contributing to the developing relationship between the two countries.

The remark was made by Panama's National Assembly Chairman Elias A. Castillo while receiving Nguyen Ngoc Tran, Deputy Chairman of the NA's Foreign Relations Committee, and his entourage.

The delegation also had working sessions with Panama's foreign ministry, and trade and industry ministry.

During the five-day tour which began on March 11, the delegation also visited Chile.

They met with the President of the Chilean Deputies Chamber and the Chairman of the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee.

The two sides discussed measures to boost the multifaceted cooperation between the two legislative bodies as well as the two peoples.

Viet Nam-Chile bilateral trade cooperation has not matched the two nation's potential, the official said. However, it's believed it will be further strengthened with the speeding up of the implementation of bilateral cooperational agreements./.
