German businesses interested in Viet Nam
Visiting Bayern Governor E. Stoifer made the statement during his meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Ha Noi on March 27.
This is the first time he came to Viet Nam with a delegation of entrepreneurs, universities' representatives and many journalists. This reflected Germany's special interest in Viet Nam's market, he said.
PM Dung thanked the German Government for its annual official development assistance (ODA) of 40 million USD to Viet Nam's infrastructure, education and training development.
The host briefed the guest of Viet Nam's policies to attract foreign investment and noted that the two countries' multi-faceted cooperation has seen positive developments.
Two-way trade value reached 2 billion USD with Bayern accounting for almost 350 million USD, the PM said, adding that currently, there are 70 German-invested projects in Viet Nam with a combined capital of 400 million USD.
However, the PM noted, investment cooperation has not yet matched with the two countries' potentials.
PM Dung asked both sides to facilitate the two countries' relevant agencies, organisations and businesses to seek measures to effectively tap their potentials and strengths for the benefits of both peoples./.
