Party chief meets Chilean congressmen, court chief
(VNA) - A visit to Chile by the Vietnamese Party chief has helped boost mutual understanding between Viet Nam and Chile and will usher in a new stage of development in the two countries' ties, leaders of the Chilean parliament and court have said.
Chilean Vice President of the Senate Carlos Ominami, Speaker of the House of Representatives Patricio Walker and Supreme Court President Enrique Tapia met visiting Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh on separate occasions May 25.
Both the hosts and guest shared the view that the two countries' law-making bodies and judicial agencies should increase the exchange of information and experiences.
During the visit, the Vietnamese Party chief also met with the leaders of the Chilean Communist Party, the Alliance of Parties for Democracy, and the Chile-Viet Nam Cultural Institute./.
