Viet Nam, China push for increased cooperation

China is eager to further expand cooperation with Viet Nam , a member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (CPCCC)'s Political Bureau, Luo Gan, said on June 18.

He was receiving Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, who is on a visit to Beijing .

The Chinese Party official elaborated that the friendship between the two countries is growing and bringing in practical benefits for both sides and that it is manifested by the exchange of visits by senior leaders and the deepening of cooperation ties in a wide array of areas.

He recalled the recent visit to China by President Nguyen Minh Triet and the important agreement reached by the two sides during the visit, aimed at elevating the bilateral ties to a new level.

For his part, the deputy PM reiterated the Vietnamese Party and Government's policy of placing importance to furthering the relations between the two countries and boosting and broadening cooperation in all fields.

The same day, Deputy PM Trong met with the Head of the CPCCC's Commission for External Relations Liaison, Wang Jiarui, discussing the sharing of experiences between the two parties.(VNA)
