Relations with UK highlighted in Queen’s birthday ceremony
Both President of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Viet Nam –UK Friendship Association Huynh Ngoc An and UK Consul General to the city Deborah Clarke made the shared comments at a ceremony to celebrate birthday of Queen Elizabeth II held in the city on June 30.
”Progammes on cooperation in economy, culture, education, science and technology have shown achievements and had positive impact,” An affirmed.
For her part, Clarke said bilateral investment and commercial ties have flourished. She expressed her hope that the coming establishment of the Viet Nam-UK joint committee on economy and trade would create more opportunities for businesses from the two countries.
She stated that the UK was ready to give most favourable conditions for Vietnamese investors to access the UK and European markets, and education and training would be one of major pillars in the future cooperation between the two sides.
A UK business delegation involving in environmental products and services visited Ho Chi Minh City last week to seek cooperation opportunities and another group of British entrepreneurs came to the city to study investment environment in the software and telecom industries.-(VNA)
