NA Chairman receives Thai Attorney General
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong on August 9 received Attorney-General Pachara Yutidhammadamrong and his entourage from Thailand, who began their three-day visit to Viet Nam the day before.
Chairman Trong welcomed the first-ever visit made by members of Thailand’s Office of Attorney General, which resulted in the signing of a cooperative agreement with the Supreme People’s Inspectorate of Viet Nam.
He suggested that Viet Nam’s inspectorate and the Thai Office of the Attorney general should work out more detailed plans of cooperation.
“The Vietnamese National Assembly now as before always supports and encourages these relations to broaden dimensions,” said the chief legislator.
Attorney-General Yutidhammadamrong of Thailand said that the first session of the 12 th Vietnamese National Assembly that brought in a new cabinet was a resounding success.
He expressed his wish that legal agencies of the two countries would continue to develop ties, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Earlier the Thai delegation had a working session with the Supreme People’s Inspectorate and some other judicial agencies of Viet Nam. The two sides agreed to increase exchanges of information, visits and experiences in the fight against crime, in particular cyber crime and drug and human trafficking.-(VNA)
