Vietnamese nationals living in Australia win applause
Vietnamese nationals living in Australia are active and hard-working, and contribute to the development of the New South Wales state, said Stepphen Dedy, representative head of the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New South Wales.
The Australian diplomat made the remark while receiving Vietnamese Consulate General in New South Wales, Vu Hong Nam, in Sydney on August 9, on the occasion of the later’s presentation of credentials by Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem to Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.
He said Australia and Viet Nam need to fortify their commercial and investment relations in order to fully utilise the potential of businesses of the two countries in the context of Viet Nam’s admission to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
For his part, Consul General Nam said relations between Viet Nam and Australia have undergone considerable development in recent years but still could go further, particularly in economy and commerce.
He concluded by applauding the Australian government incentives in creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese nationals living in Australia to develop, and contribute to the prosperity of New South Wales in particular and Australia as a whole. (CPV/VNA)
