Chief executive of UK trade and investment to visit Vietnam

Mr Andrew Cahn, Chief executive of UK Trade & Investment will visit Ho Chi Minh City on 26-27 September and Hanoi on 27-28 September, according to the UK Embassy in Hanoi.

His visit aims to familiarize himself with the trade and investment opportunities in Vietnam and to understand the policies the Vietnamese Government is putting in place to further encourage market access and investment.

UK Trade & Investment brings together the work of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Department for business, enterprise and regulatory reform. It helps UK businesses who want to grow their business internationally, and overseas businesses who want to locate in the UK.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Mr Cahn will address the business community at a luncheon organised by the British Business Group Vietnam (BBGV) and meet UK and Vietnamese business people, including the potential outward investors. He will also pay a courtesy call on the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

In Hanoi, Mr Cahn will call on the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Planning and Investment and meet the UK and Vietnam business community.

He will also lead the UK delegation's discussions during the first meeting in Hanoi of the recently established UK-Vietnam Joint Economic and Trade Committee. (CPV)
