Hanoi welcomes almost 1 million foreign tourists
Hanoi has so far this year received 4.3 million domestic travellers and 926,400 foreign holiday makers.
Foreign tourists mainly came from China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, France, Australia and the US.
The number of Chinese tourists to the city saw a year-on-year rise of over 50 percent this year while Australian tourists recorded an increase of over 40 percent followed by France with 30 percent.
The capital’s hotels reported that occupancy rates hovered around 75 percent while peak season left travelers scrambling to find accommodation although the capital has put 15 new hotels into operation.
Hanoi expects to welcome 360,000 foreign visitors in the remaining three months of the year. (VNA)
