Prime Minister meets Senegalese and Qatar leaders
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wede and Emir of the State of Qatar Hamad Bin Khalifa Al thani in New York, on Sept. 27, as part of his agenda for the 62 nd UN General Assembly session.
Meeting with President Wede, PM Dung appreciated Senegal’s impressive achievements in stabilising and developing its economy as well as the country’s role in the West African community and the African Union as well.
“The Senegalese people will record greater achievements in all fields, politically, economically and socially, under the President’s leadership,” said the Vietnamese Government leader.
“I wish that Senegal will support Viet Nam’s candidancy for a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for the 2008-09 tenue,” emphasised PM Dung.
During his reception of Emir Hamad Bin Khalifa Al thani, the Vietnamese Prime Minister highly valued achievements recorded by Qatar in the capacity of a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He expressed thanks to the Middle-East State for its support for Viet Nam’s candidancy for a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for the 2008-09 term.
He said as a fast-growing economy, Viet Nam has a number of projects with great economic potential to offer investors, so Qatar businesses would find numerous opportunities for investment in information technology, real estate development, hotels and oil and gas industry.
For his part, the Emir of Qatar said his country welcomes Vietnamese guest-workers, especially well-trained workers in information technology, healthcare and construction.
He also affirmed support for Viet Nam to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2008-09 term.-(VNA)
