Viet Nam, Republic of Korea bask in brighter days
Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have made substantial progress together since establishment of diplomatic ties 15 years ago.
RoK Ambassador to Viet Nam Im Hong-jae made the remark at a banquet marking the 4,340th anniversary of his country’s National Foundation Day (October 3, 2333 BC).
The Ambassador said two-way trade has increased 10 fold and the RoK’s investment capital in Viet Nam has surged 60 times over to more than 10 billion USD, making the country top of the list of foreign investors.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh congratulated the RoK on its anniversary and applauded the on-going inter-Korean summit as it looks to contribute to the reconciliation, cooperation, peace, stability and development of the Korean peninsula as well as the region.
He said Viet Nam is eager to contribute to the peace process on the peninsula.-(VNA)
