Hanoi to host ACMECS business forum

The Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy (ACMECS) summit of five countries Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, will be held in Hanoi on October 26.

The Prime Minister has authorised the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organise two events on the sidelines of the summit at the National Convention Hall in Hanoi – ACMECS business forum and a dialogue between ACMECS leaders and the business community.

This is the first time the ACMECS business forum will be held with the aim of creating conditions for businesses to propose initiatives for development co-operation in the fields of trade, investment and tourism. All initiatives will be directly submitted to five prime ministers.

The forum is expected to attract 400 businesses from ACMECS member countries, representatives from international organisations, investors from Japan, the Republic of Korea, the US and the EU.

The event will provide a good chance for Vietnamese business to seek their partners. (VOV)
