Viet Nam eager to enhance cooperation with Belgium, says PM

The Vietnamese Government wishes to boost the cooperation with Belgium in all fields, particularly economy, trade and investment.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the remarks during a reception on October 5 to Belgian Ambassador Phillipe Jottard who paid him a farewell visit before ending his tenure in Viet Nam.

PM Dung said the bilateral cooperation has seen fine developments in various fields, including economy, culture and education, but it is yet to match the two countries’ potential.

The Vietnamese government leader hailed Ambassador Jottard’s contributions to the two countries’ relations and expressed hope that the Belgian diplomat would further help boost the bilateral cooperation in his new position.

Jottard highlighted the Vietnamese Government’s support during his four-year tenure in the country. He said the two countries have developed their relations in various fields, adding that however, there was still room for improvement in terms of Belgian investment in Viet Nam.-(VNA)
