RoK provides aid to Vietnamese flood victims


Ha Noi (VNA) - Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Im Hong Jae handed over 50,000 USD to President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet on October 24. The sum is for Typhoon Lekima victims.
The RoK Ambassador expressed his sympathy over the losses caused by the typhoon, hoping the country would overcome the disaster’s quickly.
The RoK government has provided aid to Viet Nam to help the country overcome disasters in the past.
In 2000, the RoK gave Viet Nam 30,000 USD in cash and 30,000 USD worth of garments. The figure were 5,000 USD and 12,000 USD, respectively, in 2001.
Between 2002-2003, each year, Viet Nam received 10,000 USD as aid for victims of natural disasters from the RoK. The country was also given 20,000 USD in 2005 and 50,000 USD in 2006
