Party leader welcomes Chinese communists

Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh received a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC), led by Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, in Ha Noi on October 31.

The Vietnamese Party leader took the occasion to affirm Viet Nam’s consistent external policy of independence, self-reliance, openness, and multilateralization and diversification in which it attaches importance to the development of friendship and traditional cooperation with China.

The Party chief asked Liu Yunshan to convey his regards to Chinese Party General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao and other leaders of the 17th CPC Central Executive Committee as well as his invitation to General Secretary Hu Jintao to visit Viet Nam.

Liu Yunshan said regular meetings and exchanges of opinions between the two countries’ senior Party officials should be held, adding that the two countries’ cooperation at every level as well as bilateral trade ties and youth exchange should be expanded.

The Chinese senior Party official also conveyed Party General Secretary Hu Jintao’s invitation to Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh to visit China.

Also on October 31, Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the CPV CC, and Liu Yunshan, who is also head of the CPC’s Propaganda Department discussed measures to enhance the relationship between the two communist Parties and countries.- (VNA)
