In the first nine months of 2007, about 30 million Chinese traveled abroad, increasing by 17 percent year on year, according to statistics released by China’s National Tourism Administration on October 30.
According to statistics, a great number of Chinese tourists continue to head for Asian countries. The ten most attractive destinations for Chinese tourists are Hong Kong (China), Macau, Japan, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, the US, Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
More than 22.2 million foreign tourists visited the country in 2006, an increase of 9.65 percent over the same period last year. Ten countries with the largest number of foreign tourists visiting China are the Republic of Korea, Japan, Russia, the US, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, Thailand, the UK, and Australia. (CPV)
