Viet Nam pursues reform to attract foreign investors

“Viet Nam is implementing its administrative reform in order to attract more foreign investment capital, especially for hi-tech industry,” affirmed State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

In an interview granted to Japan’s Asahi TV and NDN television channel on Viet Nam’s investment environment on November 5, President Triet said that Viet Nam is adjusting its legal system to conform with international laws and to increase the efficiency in State management.

In the meantime, the country is attaching its special importance to maintaining political stability and social security while building a skillful workforce and opening export processing and industrial zones with the hope of attracting more investors, he said.

President Triet singled out Japanese investment in Viet Nam’s economic development. He went on to say that Viet Nam expects more Japanese companies will invest in the country, especially in hi-tech industry.

“Viet Nam always welcomes Japanese businesses to do business in the country as they will contribute to the national socio-economic development,” he added.

On his up-coming visit to Japan , President Triet said he hopes that the visit will create a new momentum to consolidate mutual trust and bring the two countries’ cooperation to a new height. “The visit is an opportunity to reaffirm the agreement reached between the two countries’ leaders to develop the Viet Nam-Japan relationship towards strategic partnership in the coming years for peace and prosperity in Asia,” he said.
