Viet Nam, China discuss land border demarcation
The 22nd chairman-level session of the Viet Nam-China Joint Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Landmark Planting took place in Beijing from October 28 through November 6.
The two sides agreed on the results recorded after the 21st session of the joint committee and noted the need to ratchet up the demarcation of land border and the planting of landmarks.
An agreement was reached on continuing to implement the measures adopted at the 13th round of the governmental negotiation on border and territories and the 19th chairman-level session of the Viet Nam-China Joint Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Landmark Planting.
The officials agreed to work together toward preserving the stability along the two countries’ borderline and creating favourable conditions for the land demarcation and landmark planting roadmap to be completed with the signing of a new regulation on border management in 2008.
The 23rd session will be held in Viet Nam.- (VNA)
