Chinese magazine covers Viet Nam’s economic development
A Chinese magazine has said that since the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam in 1986, the Southeast Asian nation has implemented a renewal (Doi Moi) process and become one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
In 2006, Viet Nam’s gross domestic product growth rate increased by 8.2 percent and in the first six months of this year, Viet Nam’s economy developed by 7.9 percent, China ’s Liao Wang magazine said in its recent edition.
The Southeast Asian nations’ economic growth rate is expected to reach 8.3 percent by the year’s end and 8.6 percent the next year, the magazine said.
It attributed Viet Nam ’s economic development momentum to the country’s political stability, foreign direct investment attraction, and export expansion.
It also said that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea could learn from Viet Nam ’s experiences in economic reform and development. (VNA)
