Party delegation visits Tunisia and Syria
A Party delegation, led by Pham Tat Thang, Deputy Editor-in-chief of the Communist Review, paid working visits to Tunisia and Syria from October 29-November 8.
During the Tunisia visit, the delegation attended a symposium on “Democracy and development in a changing world” held by Tunisia’s ruling party, the Democratic Constitutional Rally (RCD).
The Vietnamese delegate presented a report at the symposium, stressing the need of cooperation for global sustainable development.
The delegation was later received by the RCD General Secretary and met with the Head of the International Committee of the RCD. The two sides discussed matters of common concern, especially measures to promote the two countries’ cooperative and friendly ties.
During its stay in Syria, the delegation was received by Vice General Director of Baath Party and Syrian Information Party, and worked with the Head of the Baath Party’s External Relations Committee and leaders of the Communist Party of Syria. The delegation informed the Syrian side about Viet Nam’s achievements during 20 years of renovation, reiterating Viet Nam’s policy to promote relations with other countries, including Syria.
The Syrian hosts expressed their admiration to the achievements the Vietnamese people gained in their past struggle for national liberation and the current renovation process. They praised Viet Nam’s role and position in the international arena, and wanted to strengthen and boost friendly and cooperative ties with Viet Nam. (VNA)
