Conference discusses Vietnam-China border defence cooperation

A conference was held in Hanoi on November 8 to discuss the implementation of an agreement on border defence cooperation between Vietnam and China.

It was chaired by Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh and Border Defence Commander Lieut. Gen. Tang Hue.

The agreement stipulates the basic principles of improvements in cooperative relations, information regulations and the responsibility of the two countries’ border protection and management forces.

The border defence cooperation aims to maintain peace, stability, security and order along the Vietnam-China border.

The protection of the borderline, landmarks and border projects is part of the two sides’ cooperation, which also aims to facilitate border demarcation and landmark planting. (VOVNews/VNA)
