Trade fair to mark Viet Nam’s one-year WTO membership


A Viet Nam - WTO 2008 trade fair and exhibition will be held in Ha Noi from January 12-17, 2008 on the occasion of Viet Nam’s one-year membership, a press conference on November 17.

The fair will introduce the images of a number of WTO member economies which pour large investment into Viet Nam, achievements of Vietnamese ministries, sectors enterprises and localities and highlight tourism, services and handicraft and fine art items of Viet Nam.

Luong Van Tu, Head of the fair organising board, said that the fair will highlight international trademarks in Viet Nam and commend Vietnamese businesses and foreign invested businesses in Viet Nam and their products. Commercial and investment contracts are expected to be signed during the fair.

The fair will have nearly 700 pavilions, drawing more than 300 Vietnamese and foreign businesses, including major groups such as Vincom, Vinpearl, the Viet Nam Textile and Garment group and the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam.

An award ceremony for Vietnamese outstanding businesses, products and services in 2007 will be held on the occasion.

A number of seminars on securities market, WTO and foreign investment will be organised.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, Viet Nam-WTO 2008 trade fair and exhibition will introduce Viet Nam ’s huge potential to foreign countries, promoting cooperation, investment and trade between domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. (VNA)
