Ha Noi to host ASEAN forum

“A market to conquer” is the theme of the 8th ASEAN forum to be held in Ha Noi on November 22-23.

French Ambassador to Viet Nam, Herve Bolot, said Viet Nam’s booming economy is the reason why Ha Noi was selected to host the forum.

“Viet Nam is a dynamic economy, which has recorded a growth rate of more than 8 percent and attracted a lot of investors,” Bolot said at a press briefing in Ha Noi on November 19.

More than 200 business executives, policymakers and economic experts from France and the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will attend the event.

The forum will focus on the ASEAN and its recent achievements along with other issues including development opportunities, market access, labour, distribution and consumption networks, and necessary considerations for successful investment.

The event has been organised by the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEs), Medef International, Ubifrance – a French Agency for International Development of French businesses, the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment.

On the sidelines of the biannual event, the Ubifrance will host a meeting for close to 250 small- and medium-sized Vietnamese and French businesses with the aim of strengthening their cooperation.- (VNA)
