Viet Nam opens consulate office in Shanghai


Viet Nam inaugurated a consulate office in Shanghai port city, China, on November 30.

This is the first Vietnamese diplomatic representative office in Shanghai – the biggest city in China.

To date, Viet Nam has opened consulates general in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province; Nanning, the capital of Guangxi autonomous region; Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province; and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in addition to its embassy in Beijing.

The same day, Shanghai Vice Mayor Tang Dengjie received Vietnamese Ambassador to China Tran Van Luat and a Vietnamese delegation who arrived in Shanghai for the opening of the Vietnamese Consulate Office.

The Vice Mayor congratulated the inauguration of the Viet Nam Consulate Office in Shanghai and the success of the first workshop on Viet Nam-Shanghai economic, trade and investment ties. He hoped that the opening of the office will help the relationship between Viet Nam and Shanghai expands to many areas. (CPV/VNA).
