Seminar on Vietnamese workforce in integration process
A seminar was held in Hanoi on November 30 to discuss challenges facing Vietnam’s human resources in the post-WTO period.
The seminar under the auspices of the Vietnam-Europe Business Forum (VEUBF) also examined opportunities for Vietnamese workers offered by the country’s WTO membership.
At the event, participants were briefed on European countries’ experiences in dealing with human resources.
Nearly 70 percent of the Vietnamese workforce and 80 percent of the labourers aged from 20 to 24 do not receive any training. Farmers make up 54 percent of the workforce.
Vietnam was officially admitted to the WTO in January 2007. (VOV)
