Vietnamese businesses tour European countries to seek cooperation
A delegation of Vietnamese small and medium-sized businesses has been touring the Netherlands, Belgium and France from December 1 in a bid to seek for more partners from the European Union.
From December 1 and 5, they attended an expo entitled “Intermodal” on marine shipping in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where they met and discussed a number of contracts with businesses of the host country and Germany.
Following the expo, they headed for Belgium and stayed there from December 6 to 8 to conduct a series of trade promotion activities, including a meeting with Belgian counterparts and overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
The meeting, which took place in Belgium’s capital city of Brussels on December 7, saw the attendance of Charge d’affaires Nguyen Manh Cuong who assured the Vietnamese and Belgian businesses that the Vietnamese embassy in Belgium would do its best to facilitate their cooperation.
Head of the Vietnamese trade mission in Belgium Tran Trung Thuc reported that Viet Nam’s exports to Belgium rose 20 percent in 2006 and 2007.
However, he noted that the two countries’ economic cooperation remained modest and incommensurate with their potential.
The Vietnamese business delegation then left Belgium for France.- (VNA)
