Singapore ready to share experiences with Vietnam

Singapore is willing to share its experiences in various areas, particularly in investment, trade and personnel training with Vietnam, said visiting Senior Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong.

On December 11, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh received Singaporean Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong who spoke of his country’s desire to foster more in-depth links with Vietnam.

Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong took the occasion to share Singapore’s experiences in boosting economic development, tackling social issues and implementing environmental protection with Vietnam.

He expressed his delights at Vietnam’s achievements and positive changes and hoped that the Vietnamese people would make more progress in national construction, thus turning the country into an industrialised nation by 2020.

For his part, Party General Secretary Manh hailed the positive contributions made by the Singaporean Senior Minister to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the past few years.

Mr Manh affirmed that Vietnam will continue its renovation process towards rapid and sustainable development. The country will also continue with its foreign policy of fostering and expanding friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with neighbouring and regional countries, including Singapore, on the basis of mutual interest and within a multilateral cooperation framework, in the interest of the regional countries for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
