Bangladeshi farmers study Ha Noi’s production experiences

A delegation of Bangladeshi farmers has been to Ha Noi to inquire into the city’s experiences in developing the garden-pond-breeding (VAC) agricultural model.

The Bangladeshi delegates made field trips to Gia Lam district where local farmers have annually earned more than 100 million VND from each hectare of crops, as well as service-tourism establishments in Trau Quy town.

Nguyen Quang Trung, deputy head of the Economics Board of the Ha Noi Farmers’ Association, told his guests that the association and its chapters at all levels have joined hands with research institutes, agricultural extension centres and businesses to transfer new technologies and farming techniques to local farmers.

More than 195,800 farmers have so far been enabled to attend training courses, he said, adding that the association also helped nearly 12,000 others get skills to grow organic vegetables under a project funded by the Danish organisation (ADDA) -
(VNA).
