Catholics in Ha Noi enjoy prosperous life
Catholics in Ha Noi now enjoy a stable life with the number of poor households reducing remarkably, said the city’s Committee for Catholic Solidarity at a get-together celebrating Christmas held on December 19.
More than 90 percent of Catholic families in Ha Noi met the criteria for recognition of “cultured families” in 2007, which required a prosperous life, a harmony between family members, and law observance.
The community have actively joined in charitable activities for disadvantaged people, raising hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dongs, dozens of tonnes of clothes and noodles to send to people in flood-stricken provinces.
According to the committee, the Catholic community in Ha Noi has also contributed remarkably to the capital city’s socio-economic development and social order maintenance in 2007.- (VNA)
