Defence Minister salutes Thai Army officers
Minister of National Defence Gen. Phung Quang Thanh received Gen. Anupong Pachinda, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, in Ha Noi on Dec. 20.
Gen. Thanh welcomed Gen. Anupong’s visit to Viet Nam , saying that it helped strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding between the armies and people of the two countries.
For his part, Gen. Anupong informed his host of the outcomes of working sessions with organs of the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA).
Earlier, he held talks with Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Huu Kham, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the VPA.
The Thai guests paid tributes to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and called at the Sao Vang (Golden Star) Corps and the Viet Nam Military History Museum.-(VNA)
