Italian media praises Viet Nam’s development
Rome (VNA) – The Italian best-seller magazine "L'Espresso" has recently run an article by Gianni Perrelli, praising Viet Nam’s impressive development over the past years.
Gianni Perrelli in his article said that Viet Nam has been changing since 1992 after the Communist Party of Viet Nam carried out economic reforms and the open-door policy to boost trade and tourism.
He said small-and-medium enterprises played an important role for Viet Nam’s economy which was growing at a high rate of above 8 percent annually.
Viet Nam officially became member of the World Trade Organisation in 2007, he said, stressing that the country is now called “a new tiger” in Asia.
He noted that Viet Nam has a great potential to develop industry and tourism, though the country is now still an agriculture-based economy and ranks second among the world’s largest rice exporters.
