Ha Noi (VNA) – Two-way trade between Viet Nam and Chile reached more than 162.7 million USD in 2007, an increase of 1.2 percent over the previous year.
Of the total figure, Chile exports 107.6 million USD to Viet Nam while importing close to 55.1 million USD from the Southeast Asian nation.
The Chilean export promotion agency said that the country mainly exports copper, pinewood, fish oil, salmon, pulp and wine to Viet Nam, while importing coffee, footwear, shirts, printers and porcelain ware.
Viet Nam – Chile bilateral trade has increased by close to 7.4 times during the 2002-07 period. Chile considered negotiations on a free trade agreement as one of the country’s priorities this year with the aim to boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.
