Viet Nam aims at closer ties with Turkey

Ha Noi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that the Vietnamese government and people hope to further promote Viet Nam-Turkey cooperation in all aspects for the benefits of both sides.

PM Dung made the remarks while receiving the out-going Turkish ambassador to Viet Nam Yahya Akkurt.

Ambassador Yahya Skkurt noted that two-way trade value of 400 million USD between Viet Nam and Turkey is incommensurate with both countries’ potential and the figure should be raised to 1 billion USD.

The Turkish diplomat said that the two governments should accelerate cooperation in culture, especially folklore.
