Dutch enterprises eye Vietnam’s agricultural market

Rubert Konjin, the Dutch embassy’s agricultural counsellor, has affirmed that Vietnam’s farm produce market is becoming increasingly attractive to Dutch enterprises.

Mr Konjin made the remark at a workshop in Hanoi on March 17 to launch a programme that aimed to link Vietnamese and Dutch businesses. He said more higher quality agricultural products are being imported to the Netherlands from Vietnam. He also affirmed that Dutch enterprises have found the Vietnamese investment climate much improved.

The workshop was part of a current working visit to Vietnam by the Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation Bert Koenders and Minister for Foreign Trade Frank Heemskerk from March 16-21.

The two ministers, who are accompanied by 45 Dutch companies operating in fields such as agriculture, health care, and state management, appreciated Vietnam’s rapid economic growth and success in poverty alleviation, education and health care services.

The Dutch officials said it is now time for the two countries to build on the current fine cooperation and expand it to other areas such as trade and investment, agriculture, culture, flower planting and maritime transport.

Development Cooperation Minister Koenders will deliver an important speech at the Ho Chi Minh National Political and Administrative Academy on March 18. (VOV)
