Vietnam to boost multi-faceted cooperation with Queensland


Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese government always wishes to enhance cooperation with Australia in general and Queensland State in particular in all aspects, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Receiving Queensland ’s Minister of Transport, Trade, Employment and Industrial Relations John Mickel in Hanoi on March 27, PM Dung said he was pleased with the growing cooperation between Queensland and Vietnam ’s ministries and agencies in education and training and agriculture.

He quoted as examples a milch cow breeding programme in northern Tuyen Quang province and projects helping farmers kill insects harming fruit trees in several northern provinces .

For his part, Minister John Mickel, who is on a Vietnam visit from March 27 to April 1, expressed his wish to expand the bilateral cooperation to tourism, transport and mining sectors.

After the reception, the two sides witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on developing coal gasifying technologies and diesel production between the Vietnam Coal and Minerals Group and Queensland ’s Linc Energy Company.
